My name is Ray Clark and I’m the owner of Second Street Photography. I’ve been shooting for about eleven years, but I’ve photographing people almost exclusively for the past five years. When I bought my first camera, I had no idea what I was looking for or what features I wanted; I only knew that I wanted a “good” one. It didn’t take me long to discover that it’s the photographer, not the camera, that makes a great image: One who understands lighting and posing and emotion and composition. I think you’ll see these things in my work.
Anyway, after a couple of years of photographing flowers and landscapes and buildings, I was hooked on photography - but suddenly, those buildings and flowers weren’t enough. Enter portraiture. Make no mistake, a great photograph from any genre will still choke me up, but a great portrait is what really moves me - and that’s what I aim to create. Every single time.
I’m a published photographer (my work has been featured in "Fit" and "Bleep" magazines) and I’ve been a member of the Professional Photographers of America since 2017.
