

Nicol Hockett is a portrait and documentary photographer who aims to show the authenticity, grace, and enthusiasm of people and looks for a sense of character and determination in her work.
Her photographs have been published in the Journal of The Royal Photographic Society and Photographer's Forum Annuals and have earned awards and recognition in leading international photographic competitions. She has exhibited at FotoNostrum Mediterranean House of Photography in Barcelona, the National Geographic Museum in Washington, D.C., and in physical and virtual galleries in the United States and Great Britain. Baltimore Center Stage and the Baltimore County Public Library have selected her images to be permanently placed in their public art collections.
She is an Associate with The Royal Photographic Society (ARPS), a Certified Professional Photographer (CPP) of the Professional Photographers of America (PPA), and a Professional Member of the American Society of Media Photographers (ASMP).
She holds a Master of Arts in Communication from The Johns Hopkins University and a Professional Photography Certificate from the Washington School of Photography.
She has provided critique and judging for camera clubs and art leagues in Virginia, Maryland, and Washington, D.C.
