I am the CEO and Photographer of Misty Jones Photography. I love to travel: Both of my parents served in the Air Force and I loved experiencing other cultures. I was born in Wisconsin, and yes, I love cheese. Our first base was in Rapid City, South Dakota, and from there we traveled to Japan, California, England and finally Florida. I have visited over a dozen countries and 35 states.
My love of photography stems from my desire for everyone to see the beauty in themselves. I believe that we are all beautiful, even with our imperfections. I also believe everyone should be treated with respect and kindness. I believe in equal rights, that love is love, and in kindness above all else. I believe in the power of empowering other women and the power of supporting small businesses.
Random things about me: I struggled with infertility and did 3 rounds of IVF. Our two youngest babies (ok they are technically teenagers) were adopted and have completed our family with the perfect mix of sass and humor. I have a gluten allergy, but I love comfort food. So, I have learned to cook in new and healthier ways but I still love ice cream. Have you ever had cake batter ice cream with cookie dough and Reese’s peanut butter cups? It is EVERYTHING! I have a Paralegal degree and worked as an Accountant for several years before getting my Real Estate License and then becoming a Professional Photographer. I am a mix between an introvert and an extrovert depending on the situation. I secretly want to write a book but don't tell anyone. I love a good tear jerker movie. I love Broadway shows, musicals, and singing in the shower.
When I am not working, I like to spend time traveling with my family going to my two youngest kids’ soccer games; hanging out by the pool with my oldest daughter and my two granddaughters; sharing a bottle of champagne with my tribe by the pool; or getting massages. I believe home should be your safe space where you can cry, laugh and love freely. I love to go out dancing or staying home and completing a puzzle with my husband Walter. After a tough week you can find me binging on Netflix true crime stories. I believe playing hard is equally as important as working hard.
