Mikeal Beland is a designer, artist, photographer, and creative director of Beland Studio, LLC. Named one of Exposure’s Top 40 Landscape Photographers to Meet and GLAAD’s Top 100 International Artists, his work has been featured in publications, commercial advertising, art galleries, and philanthropic auctions worldwide since 2008. His work is characterized by emotive narratives and composition, bold color and broad dynamic range.
Beland has worked with creatives, organizations, corporations, small businesses, and nonprofits of all kinds for two decades. In those projects, he helped create visual identities, small business brands, and modernized legacy brands in New York City, Seattle, WA, Bozeman, MT, and other US locations. Client work has included creating images, videos, graphics, advertisements, annual reports, events, interiors, environments, storefront design, visual merchandising, social media content, and product merchandising designs. He also developed and redesigned websites, and implemented strategic design for search engine optimization and digital marketing campaigns to bring his clients to the top of Google Search. In addition, he has taken over 250k photographs and produced paintings, ceramics, sculpture, and documentary projects across the United States focusing on national parks and social justice issues.
After spending the past decade as a creative director at Lotus Effects, LLC in his hometown of Bozeman, MT, he moved to Southern California in 2022. He previously worked as a successful freelance designer and photographer in NYC and Seattle while attending the University of Washington for Interdisciplinary Visual Arts and Comparative History of Ideas.
