Michael Cohn has been fascinated by the lens for over 40 years. Inspired by his aunt, who was a photographer and had her own black & white darkroom, he has always been drawn to the lens. His cousin, Les, is also a professional, award-winning still photographer and has been an additional inspiration over the years.
Growing up in Philly, Michael spent time taking photos atop the “el” train tracks while studying Radio, TV, and Film at Temple University, where he earned his BA in Communications degree with honors. He is also a professional audio engineer and always had his Nikon 6006 with him while touring the country - taking photos along the way.
After spending over a decade as the Digital Marketing Director for an automotive aftermarket accessory company in Birmingham, Alabama, he made the decision to concentrate on photography and videography. Immediately studying for and passing his exam, he is also a FAA Certified Remote Pilot and has spent countless hours viewing the world from a bird’s eye view.
Michael now spends his time shooting with Canon, GoPro, DJI, and iPhone cameras, shooting portraits, engagements/weddings, real estate, off-road adventures, and more. Michael has built a portrait studio in his home. Whenever he gets the time, he also enjoys his large guitar collection, drums, and his rapidly growing antique camera collection.
He’s been “accused” of over-doing his projects, he is unapologetic and constantly strives for nothing short of excellence.
