Mary Oakes is a full time photographer with a full service studio. Her training in photography training began as a hobbyist and then shifted to an academic setting at Schreiner University. At SU she was instrumental in their curriculum redesign and start-finish lab overhaul. She furthered her education at Texas School of Professional Photography and maintains her skills by mentoring under masters in her craft. She has passed her Certification Exam and is honing her portfolio for the image submission phase. She has been published internationally, has art on permanent display in 4 states and has artwork included in the Smithsonian Boy Scouts of America Collection. She was named 2018 Best of Selma, Texas for Photography.
