MARINA PROSKURINA’S BIO
Artist Marina Proskurina began her career in Russia and moved to the United States in 1998. She earned her Ph.D. in Fine Arts and Design, in Moscow, Russia and her Master of Fine Arts in Art and Design, at the Stroganov Moscow State University of Arts and Industry, in Moscow, Russia also. Received FDAE (the Florida Degree of Artistic Excellence) in the USA. She was an adjunct professor at Daytona State College for 13 years, teaching a variety of drawing, painting, design, and digital imaging courses each semester. Currently, she is teaching Photography and Digital Design as a full-time instructor at Manatee Technical College in Bradenton, Florida. In addition to working with Digital Photography, Dr. Proskurina excels in the areas of Digital Art, Digital Design, Digital Imaging, Fine Art: Painting, Drawing Ceramics, Airbrush, and Watercolor. Ten years in a row, she has been ranked as one of the top 10 Central Florida photographers in the Fine Digital Art category. Dr. Proskurina has earned international acclaim and numerous awards for her imaginative works of art throughout the years. She has shown her work all over the world, including art exhibitions in Italy, the Czech Republic, Holland, and India. She was commissioned on 9/11 by the University of South Florida to design and produce a 24 x 30 Fine Art Metal Mural which still hangs in the College today. Received FDAE (the Florida Degree of Artistic Excellence) Gold Ribbon - earned through competition, but only through images entered in the Electronic Artistry Category. A total of thirty (30) merits are required, with a minimum of 16 earned through competition (scoring 80 or higher).
