Lori Probst, an acclaimed artist, is known for her arresting underwater portraits that push the possibilities of movement, color, and light. As a 35-year certified scuba diver, Lori leveraged her knowledge of photographing and post-processing marine life worldwide - from Indonesia to Honduras - to create an underwater photographing experience like no other. `
Lori works with her highly discerning clientele out of her Saint Louis-based Probst Portraits studio. From in-studio maternity photoshoots in her indoor heated pool to milk bath portraits in a tub – Lori relentlessly pushes her artistic boundaries producing unique, graceful, and ethereal artwork.
A recipient of several coveted professional photographer degrees, Lori generously shares her knowledge and expertise with other aspiring underwater photographers. With a hands-on approach, her class “Dive into Underwater Portraiture” covers the principles of underwater photography and post-processing techniques that turn images from dull to vibrant.
When Lori is not in her studio or underwater, she is with her husband Jim of 37 years, three children, five grandchildren, and dogs. One of their passion projects is raising Monarch Butterflies from egg to release. To date, they’ve released over four thousand iconic species into the world.
