Throughout my childhood, I would often spend Saturdays at the Brooklyn Museum in Brooklyn, N.Y. My mother would expose us to the arts from an early age. From the time I was 9 years old, I had a camera in my hand. I have experienced different art mediums, watercolor, charcoal, pen and ink.
However, my passion for photography cultivated over time. For over 20+ years, I have been capturing photographs professionally through experiences of parenting, marriage, and being a daughter/caregiver to my parents. My life's experiences have made me wiser and I have used these experiences in my practice.
My photography practice is defined by the seasons. Winter months; I am taking Headshots in my Home Studio, in the Spring; Events/Engagements, Summer; Outdoor Portraits and in the Fall; High School Varsity Football. Being the only "Female Sports Photographer" directly on the sidelines has made me a stronger person.
When I photograph any event or series, I keep in mind that there is a story to tell. With every photograph there is a moment in time that is captured and with that moment a story. With each photograph I want to share and convey emotion, the unspoken words in my photographs.
