I am an award-winning professional photographer based in the SF Bay Area. While I specialize in travel and performing arts, my practice spans most genres of photography, and I am always eager to create something new. All of my work is guided by a simple philosophy: Seek the authentic spirit of a person or a place, then create a compelling visual narrative to tell their story. I am a recent winner of Digital Photo Pro Magazine's Emerging Pro competition and the prestigious international award Travel Photographer of the Year, and I was shortlisted for the National Geographic Travel Photography competition. My work has been published widely in magazines, books, and websites and has been exhibited frequently around the world. As a teacher, I'm passionate about helping fellow travelers improve their photography while learning to explore our world with greater cultural awareness and advocacy. What is the starting price for your photography services?
All of my sessions are customized to meet the client's needs. We start the process with a chat about what results you are looking for and how we can best achieve them. My pricing is competitive for top-tier professional photography and we can usually work within any reasonable budget.
What is typically included in the starting price?
A basic portrait photoshoot might include a consultation, our session fee, and delivery by high-resolution download of approximately 25 finished photos. For an event or performance/rehearsal photoshoot, the same services may be included but typically more images will be delivered (approximately 50).
What primary photographic style do you identify with?
My style emphasizes capturing the authentic spirit of each person and place, and creating images together with the client that tell their unique story.
What photography services do you offer?
I specialize in the performing arts, portraiture, travel, and events. However, my practice spans many styles of photography and I can customize sessions to meet a diverse range of clients' needs.
What photography items do you offer?
In most cases I deliver finished photos via high-resolution download from a private online gallery. Additional items, such as prints, cards, and specialty products can be purchased at very reasonable prices, often from the same gallery.
Do you offer digital files?
Yes. High-resolution JPEG files are the preferred delivery method for finished photos.
Can you walk me through your process?
Of course! Once you make contact, we will chat (via phone, email, text, etc.) about your goals, timing, and budget for your photography needs. I can usually offer several approaches to meet your needs. Together we come up with our plan, schedule the session(s), and create something magical!
Do you offer a pre-session consultation?
Absolutely. Most of my sessions are customized to meet the clients' unique needs, so we start with a chat about those needs and how we can make it happen.
Will you help style me?
I can offer advice about wardrobe, hair, makeup, etc., but I do not personally offer styling services. In many cases I can recommend a stylist to be available for our session.
Do you have a studio?
Depending on your needs, we can have our session(s) on-location, at an arts studio, or in a photography studio. I partner with studio owners when an in-studio shoot is booked.
