Hello! I'm Kevin Ames. I've been making and selling photographs since I was 12 years old. My photography career began in earnest in high school where I was the chief photographer and co-editor of the yearbook. During the ten years I attended Boise State University I concentrated on the humanities in many different fields including theatre arts where I learned lighting, sound design, set design and styling that has helped me have a well-rounded vision of how to use photography to tell my client’s stories.

I moved to Atlanta, GA in 1981 and worked freelance before starting my own studio, Ames Photographic Illustration, Inc. in 1983, I changed the name to Kevin Ames Photography, Inc. a few years ago to be more personal and approachable. I believe people want to work with people, not a big corporation when it comes to creative work like photography and video.

I have a well-rounded career that covers many specialties. I currently make business headshots, architectural exteriors, and interiors, fashion, and products. I have added video production for testimonials, sales, and training projects.

The hallmark of my photography is doing my homework. I ask a lot of questions so I can make photographs and videos that tell my client's stories effectively.

I have a team of stylists, hair and makeup artists, and assistants that I call on to produce projects. I'd love to chat with you about yours!

What is the starting price for your photography services?
My headshots start at $250.00.
What is typically included in the starting price?
There are no time limits for any of my sessions. This takes the pressure of increasing costs as the session goes on.
What is the price of your most popular package?
I don't offer packages. Each session type includes one retouched, finished digital file large enough for making an 8 by 10, one sized for websites and cropped for social media profiles. Additional poses are $100.00 each.
What is typically included in your most popular package?
Unlimited time, choice of backgrounds, and instant review of the photos on my computer as we work together to get the best headshot. One finished headshot, retouched and sized for 8 by 10 prints, website and social media profiles. To make choosing just the right photo, I make a custom website for each session hosted on. a private website.
What primary photographic style do you identify with?
My style is clean, well-lit, perfectly posed in a session that my clients always tell me are fun.
What photography services do you offer?
Business headshots, architectural exteriors and interiors, fashion, product and testimonial, sales and training video production.
What photography items do you offer?
I offer a complete line of prints in sizes up to 44 inches wide made in my studio. Larger sizes are outsourced.
Do you offer digital files?
Yes. I deliver digital files that have been through my rigorous post-production.
Can you walk me through your process?
Sure. I ask a lot of question so I understand exactly what job your are hiring the photograph to do. Once I understand what you want, I schedule your session either in my studio or on location. I am very aware of the issues of COVID-19 and take all precautions including requiring masks wearing by myself and my team. Together, you and I review the work as we create it. This way we both know that the photographs meet your expectations. Review is done on a computer with a color correct screen so it's easy to see. I never review client work on the back of the camera. Do you offer a pre-session consultation?
Absolutely! This is the foundation of a successful session.
Will you help style me?
Yes! If you have special requirements, I have professional wardrobe stylists and hair/makeup artists too.
Do you have a studio?
Yes!
What is your cancellation policy?
I require a 50% deposit to book a session. It can be rescheduled one time at no charge. Additional schedule changes are negotiable but usually carry a change fee. Canceling a session costs the deposit.
