I’m Kerra Fischer, a professional portrait artist with more than 20 years of experience behind the camera. My studio, Kerra Fischer Portraits, is located in Southport, North Carolina, where I specialize in creating portraits of children, high school seniors, individuals, and families.
I’ve always believed that photographs are meant to be more than digital files that live on our phones or computers. I believe in print. I believe portraits belong on the walls of our homes, where we can see and enjoy the people we love every single day.
That belief shapes everything I do in my studio.
I guide my clients through the entire portrait process—from planning and styling to the session itself and, ultimately, choosing the artwork that will live in their home. My goal isn’t simply to create beautiful photographs. I want to create finished artwork that becomes part of a family’s story.
I’m especially drawn to photographing children because I know just how quickly they change. It happens so gradually that we sometimes don’t notice it until suddenly, the little face we remember isn’t so little anymore. A portrait gives us a way to hold onto that season.
My own walls are filled with portraits of the people I love, and every one of them takes me back to a particular time in our lives. That’s what I want to create for my clients—portraits that become more meaningful with every passing year and, eventually, treasured family heirlooms.
