I'm Alexander Gaddis, a semi-professional photographer based in McMinnville, Oregon, shooting under the RedtailWorks name. As a queer, nonbinary photographer, I bring a perspective shaped by a deep appreciation for authenticity and the beauty found in things that don't fit neatly into a box. My work spans landscape, nature, portrait, and pet photography, and I'm still very much exploring where my eye wants to take me next. I'm drawn to quiet, unguarded moments — the kind that ask you to slow down and really look. I shoot primarily with Pentax equipment paired with vintage film lenses, favouring the organic, unhurried rendering of older glass over modern optics. There's something about the way a vintage lens sees the world that feels honest to me, and that honesty is at the heart of everything I try to capture.
