Allison started her photography career 35 yrs ago as a photographer for NASA photographing Space Shuttle landings and experimental aircraft at Edwards AFB, California. She also worked as a medical/ advertising photographer at Centinela Hospital, the hospital of Lakers, Kings, and Dodgers. Many of her photographs have appeared in magazines, publications and journals. Additionally, Ms. Earnest’s images have won national and international recognition in B&W Magazine, PPA, and Nominated twice for BW Spider Awards for her fashion photography.
Allison holds a BS in Business Management from University of Maryland. Ms. Earnest is essentially a self-taught photographer who learned through on the job training. Allison credits her success to the countless mentors throughout the years who have graciously shared their knowledge and talent. Allison believes in continued education and is currently teaching photographic lighting and business to aspiring photographers at Pikes Peak Community College.
To help facilitate the learning process, Ms Earnest was asked by Amherst Media to write and illustrate photography books on her Sculpting with Light® lighting techniques for people and products. Allison’s Sculpting with Light® photography books are used in photo schools around the world and available in bookstores or wherever photography books are sold. Lighting for Product Photography (1st ed.) was named one of the top 16 photography books of all time that you must own and read. What an honor.
Currently, Ms Earnest is a commercial /Advertising photographer who specializes in photographing products, fashion for clothing lines, exclusive photographer for the Broadmoor Magazine (creating cover portrait of families) and special events such as stage, concerts and the like.
